January 2005-I am the Newspaper Guru! I have been assigned to be the advisor for our school newspaper. Teaching in the after school program is great. I am advising 12 kids in how to make a school paper. This is a big deal becuase we have never had a school newspaper and everyone is very excited. Since advisor positions are only given to people that are doing a good job, I am going to take this as praise- praise that comes with a lot more work.
Things I have Learned About Being a Team Player:
1. Communication is key, people cannot read your mind or your mood.
2. Be PC at all times, you are not friends with your co-workers and certainly not with your boss.
3. Be positive! There are lots of fun things to do with the kids and you can always introduce new things next year.
