March Madness and Spring Break Brouhaha

Today is the day before Spring Break. I have experienced a lot this year and this seems like a tipping point. I see the kids have really bonded with me and that the teachers are becoming more and more used to my crazy teaching methods. We are forming a community. I have learned that participating in after school activities with the kids and adults does much to strengthen our bonds.

Stuff I have done to build bridges:
1. I went to three happy hours.
2. I went to all the home basketball games and March Madness.
3. I am eating lunch in the staff room and creating a stronger bond with the EAs.

I am also very excited to be evaluated this April, there are lots of things to think about and I have really tried to keep up with my documentation. It turns out that in a charter school there is no such thing as tenure, you are evaluated every year. I think this is a good thing, it keeps people working at their optimal performance.
